Katherine Huit — Katherine Huit, Pacific Northwest Historian

McMinnville native, researcher and writer about local (Yamhill County), state (Oregon) and Pacific Northwest history, specializes in Oregon's territorial era. While a student at Linfield, she produced both a walking history of the campus and a social history of College, and later returned to teach Pacific Northwest history. Upon graduation from Linfield, she wrote McMinnville Water and Light's 100-year history and other short business histories. She served as a Commissioner and Vice Chair on the Yamhill County Historic Landmarks Commission (1997 - 2000), is currently serving as a Director of the Oregon Museum Association (March 2003 - present), and is very involved with the Yamhill County Historical Society and other history related organizations. Ms. Huit currently works as the director of the library, archive and artifact collections at the Evergreen Aviation Museum, where she wrote and co-produced a documentary called "Dream to Fly: Howard Hughes and the Flying Boat, narrated by Walter Cronkite."
