* Grant Applications Available Now. The Oregon Cultural Trust has approximately $13,000 available for cultural grants in Yamhill County this year. The Cultural Coalition's Cultural Project Grant Applications are available NOW. POSTMARK DEADLINE for submission is SEPTEMBER 15, 2008. If you are thinking of a cultural project (art, heritage, humanities) click on GRANTS, look at the priorities, look at the past grants, get information, fill out the application (It is up there with the GRANTS info.). September 15, 2008, will get here before you can blink. If you have a Cultural Project (art, heritage, or humanities) in mind, check out how a Cultural Coalition Grant might be just what you are looking for.
* The Cultural Campaign is gearing up: The Coalition is gearing up for the Cultural Campaign which will be launched right after Election Day 2008. Any Yamhill County organization with a cultural project and a membership/mailing list can become a Cultural Partner, thereby increasing its chances of receiving financial support from county residents. Interested parties must contact us, via this Web site, for full details before 15 September.
By late October individuals will be able to fill out a donation form - online - directing their contribution to any of the Cultural Partners.
* Newberg's Art Walk every 1st Friday and McMinnville's Art and Wine Walk every 3rd Saturday, Downtown merchants, artists and wineries collaborate to encourage the appreciation of strolling through the city, while experiencing the arts and maybe discovering a special new vintage.

* You have got to see one of these exhibits. The Yamhill County Cultural Coalition gave a $2,500 grant last fall for an art/exhibit project inspired by the word "Nest." 21 artists participated; The exhibits and Artist Receptions are scheduled as listed:
1) At the Newberg Library, Newberg, September 3rd to 30th. This will be a mini exhibit.
2) At the Horse Radish Wine Bar, Carlton, September 4th to 30th, There will be an Artist's Reception on September 4th from 4:30-6:45 p.m.
3) Accolades Gallery, McMinnville, October 4th to 30th. There will be an Artist Reception on October 4th from 4-8 p.m.
4) Walters Cultural Arts Center, Hillsboro, November 4th to 29th. There will be an Artist Reception on November 4th form 4-8 p.m.; and October 25th at the Shield's site (Dancing Trees Sanctuary for the Arts - 19755 Kings Grade Rd.) in Newberg, an Artist Reception from 4-8 p.m.
