HAPPENING NOW

The Cultural Coalition is now accepting grant applications for the 2010 cultural grants. See Grants above for information and the application.

Day of Culture
Oregon Cultural Trust is celebrating culture around the State from October 1-8. Yamhill County Cultural Coalition is celebrating culture within this county during the same time period. Organizations or individuals who have received funding from the Coalition are being asked to contribute a cultural activity (preferably related to the project for which they received the funding) anywhere in the county, at any time, within those eight days. About two-dozen groups have expressed a genuine interest in participating.
New groups or individuals, even if they haven’t participated in our cultural scene, are welcome to join. Interested parties should complete the application form and return it as stated. All activities must be free, open to the public and appeal to a general audience.

The County Coalition will publicize the activities but will not compensate any group or individual for any costs incurred with this activity.

* YCCC's Cultural Directory of Yamhill County returns to our Web site. It provides an opportunity for individuals and organizations involved in cultural activity to be listed in a local, searchable resource. Help us make the Directory current and useful--contact us with information about your listing or event.

* Newberg's Art Walk every 1st Friday and McMinnville's Art and Wine Walk every 3rd Saturday, Downtown merchants, artists and wineries collaborate to encourage the appreciation of strolling through the city, while experiencing the arts and maybe discovering a special new vintage.

MISSION STATEMENT

The Yamhill County Cultural Coalition's mission is to increase cultural resources and opportunities in Yamhill County.

Iron rusts from disuse, stagnant water loses it purity, and in cold weather becomes frozen: even so does inaction sap the vigor of the mind.
